Terms of Service

Effective date: April 24, 2026  ·  Last updated: April 24, 2026

These terms govern your use of Cordoma (app.thefamilystack.co) — which includes an AI learning companion module called Quinn — and The Family Stack website (thefamilystack.co). Together we call these “the Service”.

An earlier prototype of Quinn ran as a separate single-page web app. That prototype is being retired and replaced with a Quinn module inside Cordoma. These terms apply only to the Cordoma-hosted Service — not to the retired prototype.

The Service is operated by Jason M. Netherland, doing business as The Family Stack, a sole proprietorship based in Missouri, United States. In these terms, “we”, “our”, and “us” refer to The Family Stack. “You” refers to the parent or legal guardian who creates and controls the account.

1.Who may use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any child you add to the account.

The parent is the contracting party. Children do not create accounts, do not accept these terms, and are not customers of the Service in their own right. The adult who signs up is the account holder, is responsible for the account and the subscription, and consents on behalf of every child profile under the account.

2.Your account

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your email and password (or Google login) secure
  • Every activity that happens under your account
  • Setting PINs for your children's profiles and keeping those PINs within the family
  • Making sure the children on the account are yours or that you have legal authority over them

You agree to the separate Privacy Policy. That policy is part of this contract by reference.

If someone gets into your account without your permission, email legal@thefamilystack.co immediately.

3.Subscription, trial, and billing

  • Free trial: 14 days from account creation. You may use any feature of the selected plan during the trial. No charge unless you keep the account after the trial ends.
  • Plans:
    • Basic: $12.99 / month
    • Intelligence: $29.99 / month
  • Billing: monthly, in advance, through Stripe. Your card on file is charged automatically.
  • Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the same price until you cancel. We will email you before any price change takes effect.
  • Cancellation: you may cancel any time from the parent dashboard billing portal. Your access continues through the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate partial months.
  • Refunds: we do not offer refunds for partial months. If you believe you have been charged in error, email legal@thefamilystack.co and we will work it out with you.

We may change prices. If we do, we will email you at least 30 days before the next renewal. You can cancel before the new price takes effect.

4.What the Service does — and does not

Cordoma helps families coordinate. Its Quinn module is a conversational AI learning companion for kids. Cordoma includes AI-generated content throughout.

AI disclosure — read this.

Cordoma (including its Quinn module) uses Claude by Anthropic, a large language model. Claude can be wrong. It can produce outputs that sound confident but are not factually correct. It can change its answers between sessions.

Nothing Cordoma produces is:

  • Medical advice — not from a doctor, not a substitute for one.
  • Therapy or counseling — not from a licensed therapist, not a substitute for mental-health care.
  • Legal advice — not from a lawyer, not a substitute for counsel.
  • Educational diagnosis or intervention — not from a licensed evaluator, not a substitute for an IEP team or qualified educator.
  • Crisis support — if a child shows signs of immediate harm to themselves or others, stop using the app and contact emergency services (911 in the U.S.) or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

By creating an account, you acknowledge that you understand the Service includes AI-generated content, that AI-generated content can be wrong, and that you are responsible for supervising your child's use of the Service.

5.What you can and cannot do

You may:

  • Use the Service for your own family
  • Create as many child profiles as your plan allows
  • Export your family's data at any time

You may not:

  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access
  • Reverse-engineer the Service or extract training data from the Quinn module
  • Use the Service to harm, harass, or endanger anyone — including children on the account
  • Use the Service to build a competing product
  • Attempt to bypass the parental consent gate or our safety guardrails
  • Use the Service on behalf of a child who is not yours or whom you do not have legal authority to enroll

We may suspend or terminate an account for any serious violation of these rules.

6.Your content

You own the family data you put into the Service — child profiles, tasks, Quinn conversations, notes, digests. You grant us a limited license to store, display, and process that data solely to operate the Service for you.

We do not sell your family's data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your family's conversations to train third-party AI models.

If you delete your account, we delete your content within 30 days, subject to the retention terms in the Privacy Policy.

7.Our content

The Service itself — the software, the design, the brand, the marketing site — belongs to us. You get to use it while your subscription is active. You do not get to take it, copy it, or rebrand it.

8.Warranties and disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do our best to keep it running, accurate, and safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available, always be correct, or always meet your expectations.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all implied warranties — merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement — and make no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

9.Limit on our liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
  • AI-generated content that turned out to be wrong
  • Decisions you or your child made based on something the Service said

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law — for example, intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

10.Your promise to us

You agree to defend and indemnify us from any claim by a third party that comes from:

  • Your misuse of the Service
  • Your violation of these terms
  • Content you put into the Service that you did not have the right to put in
  • Your failure to supervise a child on the account

11.Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be filed in the state or federal courts located in Missouri, and you agree to their jurisdiction.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

12.Changes to these terms

We can update these terms. When we make a material change, we will email every account holder at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, cancel before the effective date.

13.Contact

By creating an account, you confirm that:

  • You are the parent or legal guardian of every child you enroll on the account
  • You have read and agree to these Terms of Service
  • You have read and agree to the Privacy Policy
  • You understand Cordoma (including its Quinn module) uses Claude AI by Anthropic and that AI-generated content is not professional advice
